KASH LUV
VIP Stable
is thrilled to announce our latest addition – KASH LUV
When we heard about KASH LUV,
we didn't hesitate and bought her right away based on her
breeding and current connections. She is a
full sister to LIZBET KASH ($353,919 Q1:52.1) and is currently
owned, trained and driven by Clint Galbraith!!!!
Our newest purchase is a newly turned 4 year old mare by Call
For Rain out of the Niatross mare Liz B Kash ($29,057 1:58.4).
KASH LUV has only 7 life time starts (see
her chart here ), and is still a maiden.
She was rested in December and January and just qualified
back at Buffalo Raceway last week in 2:04.4 over a very sloppy
track (that was the fastest qualifier of the day), so she is
fresh and ready to race.
Back to why we LUV this new
purchase - She's guaranteed 100% sound, ready to go and can get
around a half mile track, but the biggest reasons are her
breeding and the fact she is coming out the Clint Galbraith
barn. These are 2 HUGE plusses!
Breeding
– KASH LUV is a full sister to LIZBET KASH who was a New York
Sire Stakes champion at 3, as well as a runner up in the
Breeders Crown. Even though she turned out
the be a top race mare, LIZBET KASH lost 12 of her first 13
starts in her freshman year, and never won a stakes race until
she moved from the barn of her NY-based connections to a better
trainer. After moving the Mark Capone barn,
LIZBET KASH was like a new horse, winning 6 stakes races in a
row, including the $150,000 New York Sire Stakes at Yonkers ,
and followed that up with runner up finishes in both the
Breeders Crown elimination and Final to Champion Mystical Maddy.
How's that for a turnaround – she goes to a new trainer
and wins $250,113 in her next 8 starts!!
LIZBET KASH is now a stakes producing broodmare as the dam of
Berry's Creek winner and 1:49.0 pacer FOUR STARZ CISCO ($279,900
1:49.0s). With a family like this, KASH LUV
definitely has a future – and a large residual value – as a
broodmare herself.
Current connections
– KASH LUV was owned, trained and driven by Hall of Famer
Clinton Galbraith. Clint is best known for
training the great Niatross - but that was over 25 years ago.
In recent years, Clint has gained a reputation as one of
the better people in the industry to buy horses from becasue he
is honest and traines young horses well and they almost always
pick up when leaving his barn. Clint turns 70 years this
summer, but he still races a barn of over 30 horses.
His stats show he has been off the last few years –
neither his driving or training percentages have been above .250
since 2002, and his 2006 numbers are even worse with a Driving
UDR of .169 (7.6% winning percentage), and a Training UTR of
.183 (winning percentage of 8.5%).
A recent example of a horse turning around after leaving Clint's
barn is KASHAKAHN who moved to Mark Ford's stable in late
December after earning just $25,634 racing for Galbraith thru
the end of his 4 year old season. For
Galbraith, KASHAKAHN was a low level conditioned horse at
Batavia and Woodbine and had a mark of 1:54.3.
Once Ford took over, KASHAKAHN lowered his record to
1:51.2 in just his 2nd start and has yet to miss a check in the
tough NW3 classes at The Meadowlands, with a 9-3-3-2 record and
earnings of $40,465. Not as dramatic of a
turnaround as LIZBET KASH, but still a BIG improvement.
Take a look at KASHAKAHN's recent "before and after
chart"
here .
KASH LUV will ship to Tim Case in the next day or two and will
be pointed to race at Yonkers Raceway. As
you know, Tim is among the top few trainers at Yonkers , and has
been doing a superb job for VIP this year.
Yonkers is the perfect spot for KASH LUV – she'll be able to
earn back her purchase price and then some before even leaving
the NW2 class (which has only been going in 2:01 recently).
We expect a BIG upside with this mare!!!
